About vGram

A small, focused tool for saving public Instagram and TikTok videos — and a clear account of how it works.

What vGram Actually Does

vGram is a free, browser-based tool that saves publicly available videos, reels, and audio from two platforms: Instagram and TikTok. You paste a link, choose a quality, and the file downloads to your device. There is no account to create, no software to install, and no browser extension to approve.

We want to be precise about the scope, because a lot of downloader sites are not. vGram supports Instagram and TikTok. It does not support YouTube, Facebook, X/Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, Tumblr, VK, or Rutube. If you paste a link from any other platform, the tool will tell you the URL is unsupported rather than silently failing.

What we cannot access: vGram only works with content that is already public. It cannot reach private accounts, followers-only posts, direct messages, or anything behind a login. We never ask for your Instagram or TikTok credentials, and you should be deeply suspicious of any tool that does.

How It Works Under the Hood

When you submit a link, vGram sends the URL — and nothing else — to our processing servers. Those servers request the publicly accessible media file, prepare it in the quality you selected, and hand back a direct download link. The transfer to your device happens over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

  1. You paste a public URL. We validate it against the platforms we support before doing anything else.
  2. Our server fetches the public media. No login, no session, no credentials are involved.
  3. You pick a format. Video from 144p to 4K where the source allows, or audio-only as MP3, WAV, OGG, or Opus.
  4. The file downloads directly to you. We do not keep a copy after the transfer completes.

What We Deliberately Do Not Do

A tool like this is only trustworthy if it is clear about its limits. So, explicitly:

  • We do not store your downloads. Processed files are transient and are cleared from our servers automatically.
  • We do not ask for credentials. There is no login for vGram, and we will never request your social media password.
  • We do not build a profile of you. We do not sell personal data, and we do not maintain download histories tied to individuals.
  • We do not host a media library. vGram has no searchable catalogue of other people's videos. It is a pass-through utility, not an archive.

The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, including exactly which cookies our advertising partners set.

Responsible Use Is Not Optional

Videos on Instagram and TikTok belong to the people who made them. A download tool does not transfer that ownership, and using vGram does not give you any rights to someone else's work.

Save your own content freely. Save someone else's only when you have their permission, or when your use is genuinely covered by an exception such as fair dealing or fair use in your jurisdiction. Re-uploading another creator's video as if it were yours is not covered by any of those exceptions.

Our Terms and Conditions set out the rules in full, and rights holders can reach us through the DMCA and Copyright page.

Who Uses vGram

  • Creators archiving their own work — Instagram Stories expire after 24 hours, and a local backup is often the only copy that survives a lost login.
  • Editors and marketers working with footage they own or have been licensed to use.
  • People with unreliable connectivity who need a tutorial or recipe available offline.
  • Anyone on a metered data plan who would rather download once than stream repeatedly.
