DMCA & Copyright

How we respond to copyright complaints, and how rights holders can contact us.

1. Our Position on Copyright

vGram respects the intellectual property rights of creators. We expect every user of this service to do the same, and our Terms and Conditions require it.

An important technical point about what vGram is. vGram does not host, store, index, or maintain a library of third-party media. It is a pass-through utility: a user supplies a link to content that is already public, our servers retrieve that public file, and it is delivered to the user's device. We keep no copy afterwards, and there is no vGram-hosted URL where a given video lives.

Because of this, there is usually no vGram-hosted file for us to remove. We nonetheless take copyright complaints seriously and will act on them as described below.

2. What We Can Do

When we receive a valid copyright complaint, we can and do:

  • Block specific URLs or accounts from being processed by our service.
  • Remove any cached or temporary artefact associated with the reported content.
  • Restrict or ban users who repeatedly use the service to infringe.
  • Take down any page on vgram.net that itself reproduces infringing material.

3. Submitting a Copyright Notice

If you are a copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of one, send a written notice through our Contact page with the subject line "DMCA Notice". Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — including the specific URL involved.
  4. Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

We aim to acknowledge complete notices within five business days and to act on valid ones promptly.

Please note: knowingly making a material misrepresentation that content is infringing may make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If you are unsure whether a use is infringing, seek legal advice before filing.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe material was restricted in error or through misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material and the location where it appeared before it was restricted.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the United States, any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the complainant.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, we maintain a policy of restricting or terminating access, in appropriate circumstances, for users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

6. If Someone Copied Your Video

If another person downloaded your Instagram or TikTok content and re-uploaded it elsewhere, the fastest route is usually to report it directly to the platform hosting the copy:

Those platforms control the hosted copy and can remove it directly. If vGram itself is implicated, contact us and we will block the relevant URLs from processing.

7. Contact

All copyright correspondence should be sent through our Contact page with "DMCA Notice" in the message. Please include every element listed in section 3 — incomplete notices cannot be actioned and will be returned for clarification.
